They may help avoid certain issues associated with fTPM, including loss of encryption keys during BIOS updates, invalidation of credentials after CPU replacement or upgrade—even when replacing with the same model—and potential system performance issues, particularly on Windows 11 and with AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors. Installation is straightforward: - Power off your computer and disconnect it from the power source. - Insert the TPM module into the compatible header on your motherboard. - Power on the system and enter the BIOS to enable the TPM 2.0 setting. - Reboot into Windows, where the operating system will automatically complete initialization and configuration in the background without user intervention. Important compatibility requirements: - Confirm your motherboard supports a discrete TPM 2.0 module. - For Intel-based motherboards: Check the model number. Any chipset with a number of 99 or higher (e.g., X99) typically supports TPM. - For AMD-based motherboards: Ensure the motherboard uses DDR4 memory.
