Dried and sifted dates. Date sweetener comes in small granules. It's a natural and healthy sweetener, a good substitute for white or brown sugar since it's the dried and ground date fruit itself. Dates, belonging to the Deglet Nour variety, are naturally dried, allowing them to maintain their properties and that characteristic honey-caramel flavor. Dates are a high-energy food, high in fiber, and also have a lower glycemic index than sugar and a lower calorie content. In addition to being a natural and healthy sweetener, it provides vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins, vitamins C, E, and A, and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, and zinc, among others.
