Try to use low temperature soldering High temperatures will accelerate the oxidation of the tip and reduce the life of the tip. If the tip temperature exceeds 470 C, its oxidation rate is twice that of 380 C. 2. Do not apply too much pressure When welding, do not apply too much pressure, otherwise the tip will be damaged. As long as the tip can fully contact the solder joint, heat can be transferred. Also choosing the right tip can help with heat transfer. 3. Always keep the soldering iron on the tin This can reduce the oxidation chance of the tip and make the tip more durable. After use, the new solder should be added after the temperature of the soldering iron is slightly lowered, so that the tin plating layer has better anti-oxidation effect. 4. Keep the tip clean and instantly clean the oxide If there is black oxide on the tip, the tip may not be tinned and must be cleaned immediately. When cleaning, first adjust the temperature of the soldering iron to about 250 C, then clean the soldering iron with a cleaning sponge, and then apply tin. Repeat the action until the oxide is cleaned. 5. Use low activity flux Highly active or corrosive fluxes will accelerate the corrosion of the soldering iron when heated, so low-corrosion fluxes should be used.
