Asics Glideride is a new shoe from the Ascis brand, the younger brother of the Metaride model, more accessible to everyone, regardless of training level. It was designed by the Japanese Hiroaki Nishimura for runners with a neutral foot type for running on paved surfaces. Unlike the Metaride model, it has a less extreme curvature, lower weight, higher drop and a softer midsole.According to research conducted by Progressive Sports Ltd based at Loughborough University UK (July 2019), a special design with a curved sole and a stiff front part of the Guidedole technology reduces energy loss in the ankle joint by 16% (compared to 19.1% in MetaRide ). It minimizes movement in the ankle joint, and at the same time the center of mass of the shoe is located closer to the heel, making it easier to roll the foot.
