How To Replace a Band Saw Tire? 1. Unplug the band saw, loosen the saw blade tension, and remove the blade. Then remove the band saw wheel. 2. Once removed, completely remove or cut off the old tire and any residue left behind. 3. Place part of the new tire onto the rim, then insert a short rod or pipe between the tire and rim. Roll the pipe around the rim once to equalize the tire's elasticity. 4. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto a brush and apply it to both the tire and the rim surface. Roll and repeat all the way around the rim. Let the glue dry for 24 hours before using the saw again.
